Why isn't the camera working in this?
There are a few reasons why a camera might not be working. Here are some most common causes for this problem.

1) There is nothing plugged into the wall outlet, or the power cord is disconnected from the device. This can cause lapse of power and data transfer to all components of the device including any attached peripherals such as a camera or microphone. 2) The wall outlet has insufficient power to sustain additional devices plugged into it.

A typical home circuit breaker typically provides 110 Volts, but only 10 Amps per phase (or 120 volts at 15 amps).

Although the device may be grounded via a receptacle, this circuit breaker is not designed to provide power to several devices at once and must be reset to reset it. 3) The camera has failed and will need to be replaced. 4) The camera is not receiving data from your computer.

Usually the culprit is discovered with simple troubleshooting tools, but occasionally there are cases where even after multiple attempts in troubleshooting that resolve nothing, you may have a hardware issue or faulty device that cannot be fixed easily.

In these cases, it is very difficult for us to troubleshoot your device due to lack of access to the outside world such as signal wires and I/O ports.

NOTE: (Yes, I know we tell you before almost every PC troubleshooting guide that you should attempt to repair your device yourself to have the ability to fix it easily and cheaply.

However, if you're as reluctant as I was once about doing this yourself, these are the steps necessary to contact an expert.)

You can confirm that the camera is receiving data by using a program such as MSPatrol to view available video feeds from the device.

If a video feed is seen by MSPatrol but none shows up on the camera's monitor, then it is likely one of these conditions has occurred. < V 1.
